Print UV specialise in promotional and souvenir printing as well as small component printing for industry. We design and
print for the end users as well as the trade using the very latest in UV Inkjet print technology. With our own in house jig design and manufacturing facilty we have full control from start to finish.

We are able to print onto many materials including plastic, rubber, metal, wood and glass, and as well as
printing our own range of products, we offer our professional print services to the end user, as well
as the trade. So if you have a project in mind no matter how small please feel free to contact us, we
will be more than happy to chat with you about your ideas.

We have a maximum print area of 610mm x 420mm and can print items that are up to a maximum of 153mm in height.

Basically if we can get it onto the print bed, then in most cases we can print it.

What is UV Printing

UV Printing, otherwise know as Ultra Violet Printing is a printing technique that uses special UV curing ink that allows the ink to be printed onto a large range of materials or ‘substrates’. The printer will place the ink on the material and a specifically designed UV light, acting as a catalyst, will follow behind curing the ink so that it sets hard instantly. This reaction causes something called polymerisation to occur. UV printers use piezo print head technology to deliver ultra-precise ink placement. Microscopic piezoelectric elements are mounted behind the print head nozzles, and an electrical charge is applied. This charge makes the elements flex, causing extremely precise amounts of ink to be ejected with a high level of control. The print head creates perfectly spherical dots of different sizes, giving incredible control over print quality, colour density, and finish.

The Ink

We print with UV flexible ink in CMYK colours in addition to this we have the facility to print with white ink alone or we can
underprint with white ink on dark backgrounds to ensure that CMYK colours stand out. In the ink, you will find small polymers and monomers. These are very light molecules that fuse together to form polymers. The hardening and drying of the Ink happens so rapidly that the wet ink dots do not have a chance to spread out and expand. This results in much finer detail/ higher resolution than other types of printing technologies. If a super-high resolution isn’t a good enough reason to give UV printing a try, UV inks have even more benefits. They are fade and weather resistant and the process of curing the inks is also better for the environment than solvent printing as they give off fewer VOC’s and odours.

We also have the facility to print with a primer, which is often used on metals to create a stronger surface bond, and we can also
overprint with a clear coating to help protect the print surface. All of this can be done with the same printing machine at the same time in order to enable accurate fully registered print images.
